2. Write a sentence with a gerund phrase being used as anything but the subject (i.e. indirect object, direct object, predicate noun, object of the preposition, or appositive). Underline/highlight and label as "ger ph: ___(function)."

3. Write a sentence with an infinitive phrase. Underline/highlight and label as "inf ph."

4. Write a sentence with an appositive phrase. Underline/highlight and label as "app ph."

5. Write a sentence with an essential adjective clause. Underline/highlight and label as "adj cl." Draw an arrow to the word it modifies.

6. Write a sentence with an nonessential adjective clause. Underline/highlight and label as "adj cl." Draw an arrow to the word it modifies.

7. Write a sentence with an adverb clause at the beginning of the sentence. Underline/highlight and label as "adv cl." Draw an arrow to the word it modifies.

8. Write a sentence with an adverb clause at the end of the sentence. Underline/highlight and label as "adv cl." Draw an arrow to the word it modifies.
